While the vaping world still waits on the Food and Drug Administration’s ruling on e-cigarette and e-liquid regulation, Congress has taken a step in the direction of childproof packaging on e-liquids. USA Today reports that the House of Representatives passed the bill by a voice vote in last week’s session to require child-resistant packaging on all e-liquids. The Senate already approved the bill; now it goes to President Obama for the final signature.

Both Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) and Susanne Tanski, associate professor of pediatrics at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and a spokeswoman for the American Academy of Pediatrics, said that this was “common sense legislation.”

The Smoke-Free Alternatives Trade Association’s President Cynthia Cabrera said in a statement: “We believe vapor products should be accessible only to adults and support the reasonable regulation of e-liquid packaging consistent with current regulation of other products not intended for ingestion.”
